I've seen your programmes on Channel 4, and have been given one of your books as a present (which I have read about twice and found to be highly agreeable) and all I can say is that you will probably in future years become a great spokesperson and representative for all people with autism in general.

im getting lonely here talk to me
Have already arranged my subject (no small feat), but figure it'll take me a dedicating evening for angling my camera and lights, and experimenting with different DOFs, so it'll probably get done this week and then go up this upcoming weekend...
Just figured I'd let you know in case you'd been waiting on it.

Interestingly, I'm really enjoying DOF for putting emphasis on the face by softening the other *ahem* attractive parts. (That's one of my favorite photographic aspects of Left of the Summer, actually.)
Yes, you're very astute and right: living up to all the standards, except the one about "meaning something." So it feels incredibly liberating, and will probably restore some vitality to the "art half" as well, besides just allowing all my photography now to be twice as potentially useful.
I see what you mean about that fact; in professional model/portrait photographer, the concept is either decided on wholly by the 'consumer', or there is none to speak of. In which case, all attention goes to making the photo as damn good as possible.
And I had noticed DOF not so much creeping into your work as doing it's best to make one hell of an entrance. I have a feeling you'll find it more useful other people would, it can be used to effectively give models that slight facial blur that takes out minor facial imperfections and brings just that much more desirability into a portrait photo. That only covers model shots, it just adds an extra dimension to the image.

A lot of the inspiration has come from hundreds of "good looking" pictures I've taken in the past. Have often thought, "you know, no one else would have any reservation about sharing these..." But they haven't lived up to the standard I'd established for my art, so they've been just "wasting away."
Add to this that I've decided I really want to be a professional model/portrait photographer, in which exactly that "meaning" needs to "get out of the way." So I think it'll be a hell of an exercise.
BTW, don't know if you've noticed yet, but DOF has entered into my recent work in a really big way. So I owe you thanks for that advice and inspiration as well.
I mean, I don't even know if you liked my comments or no... and if no why?

I hope you don't mind if i paste that comment into my journal, and show people what really makes an artist feel as if he's done good.
Thanks once again, i do hope you present another artist with the same benevolence as you have just presented me.
